Loading... Please wait...Tender's jumbo tote bag is cut and made in England from English-woven left hand cotton drill. The straps are formed from a single continuous loop of heavy cotton canvas webbing, also woven in England, and secured with a kick-pressed copper 'Universal' rivet.
The bag is hand stamped with the Trestle Shop logo at the front, however the bag can also be delivered unstamped if you prefer, please email us if you'd rather have a bag with no stamp.
Carrying on the structural development of Tender's original leather satchel, which was cut in one piece, with no floor or bottom seam, this tote is folded across the bottom edge, and the straps run straight around, supporting whatever's inside the bag. A seam on a bag is the part most likely to break or split, so by running around in one piece Tender's tote is as strong as the materials allow.
The bag is washed to shrink the fabric and fluff up the raw end of the cotton strap (stopping it from raveling with wear), then stamped with the Trestle Shop brand. It's oversized to fit at least a laptop, portfolio, groceries, or a change of clothes.
Tender's jumbo tote bag is also available in rinsed mattress ticking, and hand dyed with woad in left hand twill or mattress ticking. A collaboration tote with the University of Brighton Design Archives ia printed with a design by Natasha Kroll. Also made from unbleached and undyed cotton are hand-linked socks, bias-cut boxer shorts, and signed Fox and Elephant print bandanas.
